8.30am Coffee Morning at Old Schools - June 27
HATHERLEIGH
Coffee Mornings in Old Schools, Hatherleigh for Hatherleigh Parish Church Churchyard Fund Tuesday 27th June 9.00am ? 12 noon Come along and join us for a cuppa and a slice of cake. The grass just keeps on growing and it is a very large churchyard. We are therefore very grateful to all those who contribute to the upkeep of the churchyard. Churchyard funds have gone down recently (due to being used!), so we are having several coffee mornings to increase funds again. Each coffee morning raises enough funds to cover about one cut of the grass, which is cut every couple of weeks during the summer. Thank you very much for your support! Location EX20 3JN

Mike served his apprenticeship on Prince Charles`s estate at Highgrove and still undertakes work for him. The next meeting will be on the 10th July when the very popular speaker, Simon Dell, will be with us to talk about `Beatrice Chase a Dartmoor Author`. The Emperor's New Clothes - July 14
IDDESLEIGH
'The Emperor's New Clothes' will be performed by Illyria who originally performed this timeless Hans Christian Andersen story in 2000, when it was the Critic?s choice at the Edinburgh Fringe festival and attracted multiple 5-star reviews on a sell-out UK tour. Beneath the fancy clothes of the tale lies something more meaningful; human weaknesses are satirised mercilessly; and a capacity for loving is the highest value. There are larger-than-life characters, lots and lots to join in with ? and an ending that will leave you helpless with laughter! It will be on Friday 14th July at Nethercott House near Okehampton, Farms for City Children?s Devon Farm, where Illyria will be performing the play 'The Emperor's New Clothes'. The event will take place outside at Nethercott House, near Okehampton, EX19 8SN. Tickets are 16 for adults and 12 for children under 12. Gates open at 5pm. A hog roast and drinks will be available from 5.30pm. The performance will begin promptly at 7pm and lasts 1 hour 40 minutes including a 20 minute interval. Tickets are available via Farms for City Children's website www.farmsforcitychildren.org. or please phone for tickets on 01392 276381. Location EX19 8SN

Gardening Club - July 14
HATHERLEIGH
Gardening Club On Friday, 14th July we leave the confines of Old Schools, to go travelling. Not so far afield this time - a short trip up the motorway to Holcombe Court at Holcombe Rogus nr Wellington. A morning visit here (we plan to arrive about 11 am) will be followed by a visit to Dayspring Plants, a nursery specialising in herbaceous perennials, normally only wholesale but allowing our group visit. This is on the way home, near Exeter airport. As this is a self-drive venture, the cost will be minimal - 5 for Holcombe Court, which goes to the church and, may I suggest, a petrol contribution to your driver. A fee for Dayspring Plants will be met by the Club. There is, of course, the option, for those who may not be interested in the nursery, of just doing the morning - please make sure that everyone in your car is of the same mind!! And just to say, should you need reminding, that the Flower Show this year is on Saturday, August 19th and we hope to have schedules out by the end of the month. For any more information on any of the above or general club activities, do contact me on 47gills@gmail.com or 01837 810893 Susan Gill Location EX20 3HZ
